Euforia is an independent NGO -Non-Governmental Organization- which offers young people and experienced managers the tools, the mindset and the space for experiences and which transforms sound resolutions into genuine commitments.
We are convinced that the world needs more people who come together to find and implement innovative solutions for the social, ecological and economic challenges of the 21st century. That is why we unite people across the board and mobilize young people who may well long for social change but who are still not yet actively committed to it.
In collaboration with acknowledged international experts, we have developed highly effective training methods over five years. We are creating an innovative, non-hierarchical environment in which definitive projects evolve from ideas, an environment in which successes are celebrated together and in which mistakes can be made. We challenge young people to step out of their comfort zone, to deconstruct their mindsets, to overcome their cynicism and to discover and display their pioneering potential. In our modus operandi, we rely on participation as well as collaboration and we integrate theoretical approaches into transformational learning, human centred leadership, radical collaboration and design thinking.
Surveys show that between fifty and seventy percent of participants have become actively involved within six months of our training, whether this is through modifying their lifestyle, voluntary commitment to existing projects or the realization of a project of their own. Through their commitment, they also influence the people in their environment and inspire them to join by their own initiative the movement of change. An example of this is the amazing Active Asyl Project, which was set up last year in Berne and empowers refugees in Switzerland.
Since 2007, we have mobilized more than four hundred young volunteers, which organized a hundred events and training sessions throughout Switzerland, France, Austria but also in Africa and South America last year. Over six thousand young people and managers have taken part to such events so far. Our goal is to reach out to ten million young people within the next five years and our wish is to make social change become a global lifestyle by 2030.
