Longboard Girls Crew was created in 2010 with the desire of getting more women in longboarding and ended up changing an industry and social stereotypes around the world.
We support, promote and empower girls and women through longboarding and action sports worldwide, changing the way we are portrayed and perceived by society and ourselves.
We have created community in more than 60 countries and shifted the cultural perception of what girls and women in skate and longboarding are.
We believe that by breaking certain stereotypes we’re helping build a stronger, healthier society for all humankind.
With our newly launched NGO, LONGBOARD WOMEN UNITED (LWU) we help humans in need using skate and long boarding as a tool for change.
With LWU we now officially are a platform of social and humanitarian contribution, creating social projects, helping and partnering-up with different associations and NGOs around the world empowering humans in need, mostly but not exclusively through skate and longboarding.
Since birth we’re taught and imposed social norms and commands but we’re never taught to be really happy, to connect with ourselves, to care about everyone and realizing we’re all connected.
There is no “I don’t know them so I don’t care”. We’re all in this together and empathy and compassion are stronger than hate or jealousy when put into action. We want to bring those feelings of joy and empowerment to as many humans in need as possible.
We’re the ones we’ve been waiting for, so let’s do this! WE CARE… We can change the world.
