Dear Kev,
It has been nearly six years since I sat by your bed at Craig Hospital wondering how the hell we were going to do this. To get you back on your feet living a life of purpose and wellbeing. I never in a million years could have understood that what we perceived as the most devastating accident could turn out as positive as it has. I continue to be in awe of your resilience and willingness to share your healing journey to let others find possibility in their own.
Our return to Craig Hospital last month was a major milestone for us and for LYB. It brought back a flood of emotions and memories from the nearly 4 months we were there. I have never felt so proud, sad, and excited as I did when we walked through the hospital meeting current patients. The moment that really stood out was when we were introduced to a young boy in a wheelchair who had just suffered a TBI and his father who was helping him through therapy. Although I could feel their pain and suffering, being able to share that, through LYB, we can offer them a community and programs to support their journey was profound.
