For me, my photography is a way to be aware of the world’s beauty and its hidden poetry. Giving certain moments a frame and making them visible for the world is my core aim. The picture above was taken in Graubünden in Summer 2013 when I was working at a farmer’s. This moment when the cow was disappearing in the woods is a very still one, almost unremarkable. But given the frame of the picture there arises a unique story full of humor and mistery.
My way of taking pictures of the world is contemplative and quiet. In those moments, when I feel a motive and then grab my camera to give it a frame I become totally concentrated and focused on the situation. There is nothing else than that and I become one with the world. Then the picture arises. Later after a session, it’s a feeling of freedom and completion to see and upload the freshly made pictures and so to re-experience a part of my reality in form of visual poems.
I think photography therefore is a very special phenomenon. Without the possibility of giving the world a frame and bring it out of myself, I couldn’t do what I do. So my pictures make visible how I perceive the world. In the end, for me photography is a way to manifest a tiny bit of the world’s fleetingness through which I can show all the beauty and poetry I experience in my life.
