Just as every living being needs love, our humus – the living soil beneath our feet – also needs our attention.
On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, for the World Humus Restoration Day,
we are all invited to dedicate our thoughts, words, prayers and love to our fertile soil – the soil that nourishes us, feeds us, heals us, and gives us life every single day. And to all those who lovingly care for it and work to restore and regenerate it.
Without our HUMUS, no physical life on Earth would be possible!
When we offer it our love, it gives back to us a billionfold!…
On this special day, let’s take the time to:
🌱 consciously feel the soil beneath our feet
🌱 plant a tree, a shrub, or a flower
🌱 start a compost pile
🌱 create a small garden or veggie patch
🌱 give it our mental attention
🌱 read a book about fertile soil
🌱 connect with local farmers
🌱 take off our shoes and walk barefoot through fields and forests
🌱 feel gratitude for our farmers who cultivate the land for us
🌱 shop at organic stores or local farm markets
🌱 sing for the earth, or play an instrument in its honour
🌱 gather with others and nurture circle culture
🌱 prepare a festive meal with fresh fruits and vegetables and invite family and friends
🌱 organise a celebration
🌱 watch a film about soil
🌱 reconnect with the fertile ground within us: our mucous membranes, our microbiome
Let’s never forget:
Compost is worth its weight in gold.
From compost, living soil is born again.
Just like from the processing of old wounds and thoughts, something new can emerge,
when understanding, acceptance, love and forgiveness become alive in the now.
On this July 23rd, let’s together send out a wave of appreciation across the Earth – for the soil, for the farmers, for the gardeners and soil keepers – and let’s remember that each conscious purchase, each thought, word, prayer and action for healthy soil supports the health of us all.
