Tell us more about you, who are you?
Hello, Im a professional bboy that has been dancing for 22 years and has participated in many of the worlds biggest events. I have been involved in many projects around the world. Working on establishing breaking as a respected dance to the masses and not just a one trick dance, but the lifestyle that this dance represents. I am Mexican born, living in the United States, where I found Hip Hop. Currently I reside in San Diego, but spend most of my year traveling around the world judging, competing and teaching.
So fantastic to have you with us in Zurich for this incredible event, The Dance, what does it mean to you to be part of it?
It is an honor to be able to judge such events, im glad the dance has given me the chance to come along and judge. It’s special because it will be different then the average tournaments I’m used to judging. It is a serious job that I will have to do so I will be taking the judging serious. At the same time I’m looking forward to seeing everyone dancing. The line up looks good!
How do you keep fit?
I stay fit through dancing and working out. Dancing is physically demanding, but to create balance in the constant work out breaking gives. We have to balance out ourselves by adding work outs. Dieting is another part of staying fit for what we do.
And what does dancing mean to you?
Dance means a lot to me, it means everything since it has been my way of life for so long now. It has become my culture and it is my life. Learned so much through the experiences this dance has provided. Dance is the reaction to what music makes you feel, depending on what style you dance you move accordingly, it is a moment when you step out of your day to day routine and express and let go, disconnect from everything and let yourself go free to express. It’s a celebration of life.
Do you feel free? And if yes, what makes you free?
It’s cliche to say that you feel free, but yea you do, it is a moment when you are free from all stresses all things in life, you the music and the floor, letting your emotions go through your motions.
