And here comes a freshly built crew with 8 dancers between 29 and 32 years of age. Anna ‚Ninja’ Näsström was our interviewpartner for Aurora, the name coming from Aurora Borealis, which means Northern lights: „We thought it was fitting as we represent a nothern, Scandinavian crew filled with good energy.
What are you particularly proud of?
„That our team is not only a bunch of extremely gifted and talented dancers, but that they are also smart, funny and inspiring to be around.“
Who are your idols?
„Our idols in the dance world would be dancers who play their individuality fully and who aren’t afraid to go outside their comfort zone! People who are open, empathic and knowledgable of their own self. People who stand for and act for intersectional equality!“
What are your future plans?
„I want to keep doing me and evolving. I wish to be able to keep working hard and experiencing more of these beautiful things this dance life has to offer!“
Tell us the beauty about working in a crew:
„The beauty is definitely the inspiration we give each other, how the ideas evolve and take forms, ideas you would never get by your own. It’s a challenge but a really great one when you love the team you’re in. And of course the friendships it builds is a beautiful thing.“
What are the challenges you encouter?
„Challenges are for example being 8 strong individuals and trying to put all those strengths together in one piece. And finding time for it in everyone’s busy schedules!“
How do you resolve these challenges?
„Just stay open and focused, and maybe at times, kill your darling.“
